Eddie Acevedo

A former Chicago police officer, Acevedo was part of a wave of candidates swept into office by the pro-Mayor Richard M. Daley political organization Hispanic Democratic Organization in 1996. Acevedo, then put his shoulder to whatever causes or campaigns Daley might need him to attend to. While HDO was dismantled in 2008 following a series of federal convictions, Acevedo remains closely allied with follow HDO leaders, State Sen. Martin Sandoval, State Sen. Antonio Munoz, Ald. George Cardenas, and Ald. Ariel Reboyras.
