b. July 14, 1961
Illinois, State Representative (2007-)
Representing only a tiny sliver of Chicago, the majority of Lisa Hernandez' district – and voter support – resides in suburban Cicero. Her husband, Charlie Hernandez is the Cicero Democratic Township Committeeman. It was with her husband's support that Lisa, previously a staffer for then-Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn, obtained the backing of normally Republican-leaning Cicero Town President Larry Dominick, who was looking to rid himself of incumbent State Rep. Michelle Chavez. Chavez had been a supporter of previous Town President Betty Loren Maltese.
Since Hernandez' 2006 victory she has had little credible opposition on the ballot.
