One of The Jackson Five, Larry Rogers, Jr. vaulted into office after defeating South Side powerhouse Robert Shaw with the support of then-Cong. Jesse Jackson, Jr.. But Rogers, Jr. had some familial help too – his father Larry Rogers, Sr. is one of the founding members of one of the Midwest's biggest personal injury firms, Powers Rogers & Smith. Along with fellow founder Joe Powers, Rogers, Sr. is one of the largest Democratic Party donors in Chicago. Rogers, Jr. is also a partner at his father's law firm.
