Will Guzzardi

Illinois, State Representative (2015-)

A native of New York City, Guzzardi came to Chicago to work for Huffington Post as the local Chicago editor. Becoming involved in progressive Logan Square politics, after just a few years in Chicago, he decided to run for State Representative at age 24 against Toni Berrios, daughter of the Cook County Democratic Party Chairman, Joseph Berrios.

Taking advantage of increasing gentrification in Logan Square and Avondale, and building on the support of Ald. Joe Moreno and labor organizations, Guzzardi defeated the Berrios operation, which seemed out of step with the increasingly white constituency.
