Anthony Napolitano

Chicago, 41st Ward Alderman (2015-)

41st Ward Map - City Ward Map

A lifelong resident of the 41st Ward, Anthony Napolitano, defeated freshman Alderman Mary O’Connor in a close runoff in 2015, despite O’Connor receipt of support from Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s Chicago Forward PAC. Napolitano is a former Chicago Police officer (10 years) who worked rapid response on the West Side and as a gang officer for four years in the Austin neighborhood. He left police work for the Fire Department, where he served for five years prior to being elected to the Council.. His emergency responder background puts him in good stead with his constituents, which is a healthy mix of city workers.

An avowed Republican, Napolitano none-the-less briefly flirted with joining the Progressive Caucus. While he declined to do so, he is often allied with Council members in the Caucus.

Napolitano is a graduate of Notre Dame High School (where he was All State and Hall of Fame in football), and of Calumet College of St. Joseph University, where he received his B.A. in Criminal Justice.
