Stephanie Coleman
From The Daily Line's Cloutwiki
Chicago, 16th Ward Democratic Committeeman (2016-)
Daughter of former 16th Ward Alderman Shirley Coleman, Stephanie entered the 2015 campaign for alderman as a long-shot candidate against incumbent JoAnn Thompson. Everything changed when Thompson passed away with only weeks to go before election day, thrusting Coleman into a tight race with Ald. Toni Foulkes, who was redistricted over from the neighboring 15th Ward. Coleman forced Foulkes into a runoff, losing by a mere 143 votes.
While Foulkes was appointed 16th Ward Committeeman to fill Thompson's other vacancy, Coleman geared up for another run against her in 2015, winning this time 44-38% in a three-way race. Coleman has her sights on defeating Foulkes for Alderman in 2019.
